Things are crazy around here! We have been trying to visit dealers and clubs (and schedule as many rides as we can cram in...), still moving in, working on the basement - and the garden, and fitting in time to do some work for money too! And of course - I have been knitting. I have finished a few more projects for fundraising:

This is the adult version of the earflap hat (to match the childs - father and son hats!)

I love these baby sweaters - this one is completely machine washable/dryable (is that a word?). Makes me think of spring - and all of the beautiful flowers that I planted in my old yard - that are probably coming up now...

It is really cute with this hat - it has a bit of angora - which makes it really soft - but makes my throat hurt and my nose run. I thought I was getting sick until I looked at the yarn tag - sometimes I forget about allergies -

I've always got one of these baby hats going - they look good on every size head!

I'm also knitting some socks - I love love love handknit socks. There is nothing like them! So these ones are for Forrest - who is always pointing out that the only things I have made for him are that Harry Potter scarf that I made him (which he lost - that thing took me forever! I was a new knitter and very proud of it!), and some hats. He lays down some pretty heavy hints every time I start a new pair of socks. So...here they are (at least the legs) - hopefully they will be done this month so that they can be a birthday gift.

I'm also very slowly working on this crazy vest - I took a class to learn the stitch pattern at Stitches - it doesn't look like a vest right now - but when it's done, I may wear it every day for a year! Even if it's tacky. I don't care!

I realize it just looks like some strips of knitting right now - but I promise it will look like something - in the next year or so.

And lastly, my obsession. I admit that at Stitches I may have gone just a little crazy. I now am the proud owner of fiber for four new sweaters. I am working on a red cabled sweater right now - it is absolutely beautiful! Here's the back - I will finish this portion tonight - then I will just need the front and some sleeves - I have a bit of knitting to do....

Is there ever enough time? Have a great day and don't forget to commit a random act of kindness today!

We are 5 months away from the Ride for Kids, and still $4500 from our goal. The following items are to raise funds. If you see anything you like, or want something in a different color, etc, please let me know! Babies and Hats! I have been churning out hats and baby items lately...here's what I have hanging around right now:

This is a size newborn to 9 month sweater. The ribbon is lavender. $25.00

Here it is with a matching hat - with the hat $35.00 Just the hat $15.00

These are my favorite baby hats because they always fit - and they are very stretchy. They typically will fit newborn to 6 months. I currently these made up in baby pink, plum, baby blue and lavender. I can make whatever color you like...

Hats, hats, hats.

These fit toddler - young school age children, $20 each:

These hats are awesome in any size! If you like - and want older child or adult size, add $5. They look best with 4-6 colors - let me know what you like! For adults, I typically leave off the pompom on top, and either put a braid or nothing - depending on your preference.

Colorwork hats - no earflaps $15:
Blues/green/cream - fits toddler - young school-age

Pink/brown/cream - fits infant - toddler.

Orange, dark blue, cream, pink - fits infant-young toddler

Pink, orange, bright green, cream - fits infant - young toddler

I can make any of these hats in any size - infant to adult. Please let me know if you see something that you like, or would like me to make something unique for you! If you wish to purchase one of these fundraiser items, please click on the firstgiving link at the upper left of this page to make your tax-deductible donation. Thank you so much for your support! Stitches West

On Wednesday, my Dad and I made the mad dash to California - Sunnyvale to be exact. We are here for Stitches! Well, I am anyway. My dad is here visiting Ed and Lindsey (and of course, Sarah and Kai). I am knitting - that's right, I am here for a knitting convention. People didn't believe me when I told them I was coming here for that - but it has been a great experience! I have loved my classes - and the market was to die for!

Justin and I are the task force leaders for the Ride for Kids this year. It is a fundraiser for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. Our ride goal is $50,000. My personal fundraising goal is $5000. So far, I am at $500.00 - 10% isn't the best, but I hope to make our goal. We have 5 months to get there. That's just less than $1000 per month. Hmmm. I better get busy.

We are going to have a couple of garage sales, I am knitting for money - so if there is anything you want, get an order in soon! We are also trying to put together some sponsorships, possibly a car show, etc.

I set up this blog as a way to present my knitting for those who are looking for handknit items to give as a gift, or for yourself. So be generous - remember it is a fundraiser!

Thanks for looking.
